Step Two: Have appropriate educational degrees from regionally accredited universities or appropriate credentials in your field. The applicant must also have 5 years of relative experience in a wellness/health-related field. The applicant must not have been convicted of a felony or have been disciplined for an ethical violation in the last 10 years. The applicant must not be under investigation by any legal or licensing board.

Step Three: Submit 2 copies of his/her Curriculum Vitae/Professional Resume to ACW.

Step Four: Fulfill 15 hours of wellness related continuing education per year.

• Attests to the fact that an established association has examined and accepted the credentials of the Diplomate.
  
• Establishes the Diplomate as a distinguished top professional.
  
• Increases opportunities to serve in leadership positions for the Diplomate.
  
• Provides assurance to the public that the Diplomate has met the highest standards set forth by ACW.
  
• Provides a valid assessment of the Diplomate’s knowledge, skill, education, training and experience.
  
• Encourages continuous professional development and promotes visibility in the field of wellness.
  
• Identifies professionals as having met the specific required standards.
  
• Establishes a way for consumers to recognize reliable, professional competence.
