Diplomate Status Defined
Diplomate status may be attained by members who have achieved the appropriate number of points on the application form. Those seeking Diplomate status must provide supporting documentation, including copies of credentials, resumes, current licenses and other requirements as established by the Executive Advisory Board. Candidates for Diplomate status also must have a moral and ethical background with no disciplinary action(s) registered.
 
Fellow Status Defined
Fellow status requires the candidate to have met the requirements for designation of Diplomate and a minimum of three years of professional experience and training to achieve the appropriate number of points on the application form. This status indicates outstanding service to their field.
 
 
The Importance of Diplomate or Fellow Status
  • Diplomate and Fellow designate members of ACW as having successfully met the requirements for attaining these elevated statuses.
  • Establish another way for consumers to recognize reliable professional competence.
  • Formally recognize excellence and achievement and identifies competence at the highest level.
  • Attests that an organization of peers has examined and accepted the credentials of the Diplomate.
  • Increases opportunities to serve in leadership positions and increases marketability and employability.
  • Encourages continuous professional development and promotes visibility.
 
 
Steps to Becoming a Diplomate/Fellow
The candidate must have the appropriate credentials in his or her specialty.
1. Become a member of the American College of Wellness.
2. Achieve the appropriate number of points on the Diplomate/Fellow application form.
3. Submit copies of all credentials, resumes, current licenses and other requirements.
